OVERVIEW
The aim of the squad is to compliment any Men’s Pétanque activities which may be happening in England. It will provide coaching and competitive play at both domestic and international levels. “Pétanque Events” has been set up by in order to provide Pétanque activities to those who are interested.
“Petanque Events” has teamed up with Whitnash Pétanque Club, the club will become the Centre of Excellence for “Pétanque Events”. It will be used extensively and also exclusively for its activities. International events will be available to ALL squad members. There are no selection or qualifiers as teams will be made up from the squad members who can attend the event.
SQUAD ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Pétanque Events will invite players to join the squad. They must not be part of any current Pétanque England National Championship squad. This is because of the possible conflict of interests which could occur during the year for the player and also any coaching programmes they may be involved in which could conflict with the “Pétanque Events” coaching programme.
AMBASSADORS
Pétanque Events can invite a male player to become an ambassador for the squad. They will be available to join the international events and help the coaches during the domestic and international coaching days.
DOMESTIC COACHING / COMPETITION WEEKEND EVENTS
Three coaching / competition events will take place at Whitnash Pétanque Club during the year. They will take the form of coaching being carried out on the Saturday and a competitive match event for all players on the Sunday. This will take the form of singles or doubles or triples being played during the day. Awards will be given to the top 2 players / teams of the competition day.
Annual awards will also be given.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS
Each year “Pétanque Events” will organise international events which will be available to ALL squad members.
SQUAD and PLAYER COMMITMENTS
As with anything in life, no one knows what is going to happen when and where. Therefore, a player can be a member of the squad but not attend all the events. They can attend as many or as few as they like.
COSTS
The Domestic Coaching / Competition weekend is £30 per player. Players will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation. International event fees will be dependent on flights and the hotel costs.
Squad Coaches
The current Squad Coaches are Joe Sheffield and Stone Williams.
When the squad numbers are known more coaches will be added if required.
